NoteΒ
Here is how this vacuum flea comb functions and how to handle the disposal process cleanly:
β‘ Mechanism: Vacuuming vs. ShockingIt uses vacuum suction. The device relies primarily on its 13,500 RPM motorized suction power to physically pull the bugs and nits out of the fur.
It delivers a slight electrical charge to the filter. Unlike "zapper" combs that shock fleas right on the teeth of the brush, this design passes a small electrical current inside the mesh filter capture compartment. This charge is meant to stun or kill the fleas after they are sucked inside.
Β Filter Cleaning and Escape PreventionΒ The filter has a snap-on lid. While the internal charge stuns the insects, some sturdy adult fleas can still be alive inside the trap. To prevent them from jumping or crawling back out when you open the device, each individual capture filter comes with an attached snap-on lid.
Safe Disposal Method: Keep the machine running as you carefully detach the combing head. Immediately snap the plastic lid down over the open filter opening to lock the pests inside before turning off the power. You can then throw the entire sealed pod directly into an outdoor trash bin
Filter Replacement & Availability:Β Change after every full treatment. It is highly recommended to treat each capture filter as a single-use, disposable item to keep your home hygienic and avoid accidental re-infestation.
Β
How to Reuse the Filters
If you run out of filters, you can clean and reuse the ones you have by destroying the fleas safely before opening the pod:
Freeze them: Place the entire detached filter pod inside a sealed plastic bag and stick it in the freezer for 24 hours. The freezing temperatures will kill any surviving fleas or eggs.
Drown them: Submerge the entire used filter pod immediately into a bowl of hot water mixed with dish soap. Dish soap breaks the surface tension of the water, causing the fleas to sink and drown quickly.
Wash and dry: Once the pests are dead, empty the mesh, wash the filter thoroughly with warm soapy water, let it air dry completely, and click it back into the machine.
Β
Reusing the filter can cause several issues:
Risk of Re-infestation: Removing, storing, or opening a used filter to reuse it later can allow trapped fleas or lice to escape back onto your pet, clothes, or furniture.
Reduced Suction Power: Trapped fur, debris, and pests clog the fine mesh quickly, which reduces the vacuum's suction performance for subsequent uses
Hygiene and Contamination: The manufacturers design these filters with a snap-on lid specifically so you can seal and discard them immediately after use without touching the captured bugs.
